Foundry catalogs of the late nineteenth century were already offering them, and press manufacturers even made press-size ribbons so that letters looking as if they had been typed could be produced wholesale. Monospaced typefaces, those designed so every letter takes up the same amount of space, were a more practical alternative and soon replaced printing types.Īmerican Typewriter was by no means the first typeface to imitate typewriting. In the history of typewriters, early typewriters were initially thought to be replacements for printing and so featured proportional fonts. Like many ITC fonts, it has a range of four weights from light to bold (with matching italics) and separate condensed styles. It was originally released in cold type (photocomposition) before being released digitally. American Typewriter is often used to suggest an old-fashioned or industrial image. It is based on the slab serif style of typewriters however, unlike most true typewriter fonts, it is a proportional design: the characters do not all have the same width. ITC American Typewriter, Helvetica TypewriterĪmerican Typewriter is a slab serif typeface created in 1974 by Joel Kaden and Tony Stan for International Typeface Corporation. ITC, published by: Adobe, Apple and Linotype Its safe, legit, and all you need is a text file.Slab serif typeface created in 1974 American Typewriter I would highly recommend looking into this, as a spirit shield in a paladin shield is fantastic early game. Ps: It is possible to use ladder-only words via single-player. No AoE damage/mobbing (most melee builds struggle with this) Vengence skill caps around 7 fpa (frames per attack) Lots of early investment into synergies (resist fire/cold/light)

The build doesn't really get going until ~lv 40+ Your Conviction while override pack aura Conviction (since yours will likely always be a higher level) preventing you from being debuffed by an enemy -resist Vengence will always do tremendous elemental damage that will scale off the weapon's base physical (the more the better, the faster that better) With conviction you'll never run into immune monstersĬonviction will greatly increase your duos damage on any sorc, trapsin, firebear, javazon, or bowazon Lots of useful 1 pt wonder skills / versatility It doesn't require insane gearing like most melee builds, but it definitely helps.Īs a paladin getting high resists and max block is very easy. If you and your friend are always going to be duo-ing, and he is going to play anything with elemental damage, I would highly recommend an Avenger build. I played some other characters in between, which helped with runes etc, but with some well-rounded gear it only took a few days to complete most of Hell. PS: It took me about 2 months, on and off. I think you absolutely need strong defensive abilities (Holy Shield, Barbarian shouts?) to avoid getting hit and reduce overall damage, as the monsters can often kill you in only a few hits.

That's pretty much what you should expect as a melee in Hell :P Maybe you'll have more luck, but even now I feel very uncomfortable in any Act past the first. I ended up luring them out one by one and having my mercenary kill them, then running around the leftover boss to reclaim my corpse, and then run away to stock up on potions again, teleporting between the city and the CS portal all the time. Lord De Sais with Fanaticism aura, Extra Strong and Extra Fast, that was really something! Still I had to tread very carefully at times and even got some decent uniques from another character to make it work, though nothing too strong really, and I have quit in frustration more than once. If you do some reading and bring up your resistances and defenses, it is doable. But I also didn't know what most of the boss suffixes do and was generally clueless :) When i first arrived I had no idea and no gear, and I got obliterated by almost every boss monster.
